Congrats Graduates

I just wanted to thank all of you for participating in our final graduation. Today it really touched my heart to say goodbye to all my little friends. I know it is not forever however it still hurts a little to know the school year has gone and some will go on to Kindergarten and others to preschool for another year. I hope you all enjoyed our graduation today I thought the kids did a marvelous job. I am still trying to figure out a way that I can just sit back and watch the whole thing happen. That would be so much better then being up there trying not to cry. Thank you again moms for all you did this year to help me make our school year simply the best. I love you all. Goodluck to Tayla and Zaycee as you go on to the "big kid school". Love always Miss Kristi

Graduation Rehersal

Today we had our Graduation Rehersal. It was crazy as I wonder if the kids are understanding everthing I am telling them we need to do. Without doing it really makes it hard I am sure for everyone to understand. Well it will be entertaining to say the least. So graduation is going to be held in my back yard on Monday the 19th at 10:00am it will start at 10:15am please don't be late we have people changing their schedules to accomadate this time. Also please work with your kids on their parts that I attached to their backpacks so they feel confident in what we are doing. I have truely loved your children this year and will miss having them around me during the summer. Then on Wednesday we will be having an end of year PJ Party. So send your kids in their PJ's with their favorite stuffed animal and pillow if they would like. Also if they have a favorite treat they would like to share with the class that would be great if not no big deal I have plenty. Same preschool times for that. Love you all, Miss Kristi

Bare Footin'

So today we learned about feet and why we all have such different feet. Like the ducks have webbed feet so they can paddle. Frogs have suction feet so they can climb. Bears have clawed feet so they can dig, climb and catch feet. We then traced our foot print inside a shoe and then laced the shoe together. The kids did a great job at lacing and coloring their feet. Then we had a little extra time so we just played together it was a fun day to be a SuperKid.

Then we finished our butterfly lesson and had a great time coloring the butterflies and then watering them to make them stainish. We had a busy day as you can imagine. Thanks kiddos for hangin' in there and having so much fun with me.

Butterflies

Today we learned about the letter L (Leapin' Lizard). We went on a little Lizard hunt and each of the kids caught their own Lizards. Yes they did bring them home incase you are wondering. Then we also learned about a butterflies life cycle. The kids loved pretending to be hungry caterpillars, then full caterpillars, then sleepy cacoons, then beautiful butterflys. Oh how I love to watch your children learn and see their eyes as things click as I teach them. I only had one mother turn in the $12.00 yearbook fee. Please remember this on Wednesday.

Maggie Moo's

Maggie Moo's was awesome!! The employees there were wonderful with the kids. We got to make a full batch of icecream and then taste it when it was done. We counted and the Maggie Moo's we went to had 10 freezers and one big fridge (so big we could all fit in it). We each got an ice cream (which out of 11 kids there was 6 cotton candy ice creams)and then wouldn't you believe - but Maggie came to visit us. They even said we were the best preschool they have ever had come to visit them. So WOW what a great day we had in the life of a SuperKid!

Earth Day

So today we celebrated Earth Day. So we learned all about recycling, littering, and respecting the earth. I didn't feel like I was getting through to the kids about littering so I sent the kids out of the room and made a real mess. When I invited the kids back in they were disgusted at the mess. I think I made a real impression. Here is a poem we learned see if the kids remember the actions. Here is our earth, it's where I live, keep it clean, it's the gift I give.

Seeds to Grass

So today we learned that if you plant a little tiny seed it will grow into a plant, with soil, water and light. A tiny miracle if you really think about it. So we went outside and explored the grass roots, critters, stems and enviornment. We also learned grass is soft and cool to touch. It was a fun day to create our own pot and then plant our own grass, good luck with the grass kiddos.

Then we used our senses to play a game where Ms. Kristi hid items inside some eggs and we tried to guess what was in the egg. This was great fun the kids just loved the guessing game. Fall Registration

Finally Fall Registration is here. I am really excited to be holding two classes next year. For those who are not familiar with me. I have always had a desire to be a school teacher. So I started college taking the courses necessary for this degree then went into pharmacy assistance then motherhood. I have 8 years experience in early childhood education and have a strong love for these little children. I have been running my own preschool for 3 years and now that my kids are getting older I am excited to be able to focus on this career.

To register you will need to come and get an Information Form fill it out and pay the registration fee then you are set. I want to give those currently in my class first choice to the classes. Then on April 1st I will open up the registration to those who have verbally-registered with me. Then on April 7th I will open it up to those who have not contacted me so far. Here is the low down for next years courses. There will be two classes to choose from one will be held on Monday and Wednesday from 10-12. The next will be held on Tuesday and Thursday from 10-12. There is a $40 non-refundable registration fee which includes supply expenses and it will secure your spot in the class you sign up for. The monthly tuition will be $55 due at the first of the month. The only other fees there will be is a $20 field-trip fee due the first week of school and then at the end of the year there will be a yearbook & video that you will have the option to purchase. Each class will have 10 students and I have 1 part-time helper for each of the classes.

I would like to thank you for the incredible interest many of you have shown toward my preschool and look forward to getting to know you better. If you have any further questions then please don't hesitate to call Kristi@756-6879.

Spring Time

So today Ms. Kristi got spring fever and changed the subject from clouds to spring time. We had a great time as we went on a spring hunt. We went outside and looked for signs of spring. Then we sang the spring song that goes like this:
Hello Springtime, Hello Springtime, Hello Springtime, We're glad springtime is here.
Then we replaced the springtime with other signs of spring like greengrass, tulips, birds and so on. It was fun wasn't it kiddos!

Come a little closer now,
Don’t be afraid of me.
Leprechaun, Leprechaun,
You bring luck my way.

Kite Flying

My Kite
My kite is up so high.
My kite is up so high.
Oh my, just watch it fly.
My kite is up so high.

My kite is falling down.
My kite is falling down.
Oh no, it’s down so low.
My kite is falling down.

The wind has caught my kite.
The wind has caught my kite.
What fun, I’m on the run.
The wind has caught my kite.

My kite is up so high.
My kite is up so high.
Oh my, just watch it fly.
My kite is up so high.

Sing to the tune of
The Farmer in the Dell

Today we learned alot about shapes. We learned that there are shapes all around us in this world. We learned that we can eat all different kinds of shapes and they can taste as yummy as rice krispie treats. We then made our own shapes from our bodies. If you look real close in this photo you will see a circle within a circle. Then we made felt story boards so that we can see how putting different shapes together we can make almost anything.

They can be great pets. They can be all different colors. Most fish are eatible, yummy, and very good for your body. These are the things we learned in preschool today about fish. We went fishing and we all caught a fish- we loved that.

Big Dinosaurs

Dinosaur Song
One dinosaur went out to play
on a spider-web one day.
He had such enormous fun
He called for another dinosaur to come.

This is a photo of our nest with the eggs in it before we ate them. Wish you could have seen them but they were yummy to our tummys!

Today we learned about how some dinosaurs are big and some are small. We talked about where the dinosaurs went and what they use to eat. We also learned that all dinosaurs were hatched from eggs. Then we got to make our own dinosaur eggs out of playdough and put them in a nest. It was a great day and we are all getting excited about our fieldtrip to the museum next week!

Wintertime

Today we learned about wintertime and what comes with it. We learned that the snow is wet and cold and when it melts it makes puddles. We took a poll and found that all 7 of us love to jump in puddles. Then Peyton was the star student and brought the snack. She brought us Scooby Snacks and we all loved them as you can tell. Remember no school on Monday, so we will see you on Wednesday when we start learning about dinosaurs.

Monday, January 14, 2008

Penguins

Today we learned that penguins are seabirds that can not fly. But they are really good swimmers. We also learned their bellys are white to camoflauge them from dangerous animals below. When they look up to the surface and they see their white bellys they mistake them for something else. We had fun as we created these fun feet penguins, and found out most of the kids in the class are tickalish on the bottom of their feets. Especially when you are washing off the black paint. Thanks kiddos for another great day.

Snow Villages

Today we learned about snow villages and how people live in villages with snow all year round. We also created our own little snow globe to remind us how some people live like this all the time. I had a great day today I hope you all did to.

I'm a little Snow Kid (sung to I'm a little teapot)

When the sun comes out bright, I melt away.
I'll see you again another day!

Today we studied snow kids! It was so much fun we brought the snow into school and made our own little Snow kid. Then we had an indoor snow ball fight. This was great as it was with cotton balls so there were no injuries. We then made fresh orange juice and enjoyed our snacks. Here is the song we sang just incase some mom needed to help the kids.
